Quantum Touch Talk And Taster Sessions (13:00 - 14:00)
Quantum Touch is a beautiful method of facilitating energy healing. It brings with it a feeling of upliftment and joy. It is very simple to learn and do. It can be used to treat pain, inflammation, disease, emotional issues and it helps bones to realign. It needs to be seen or experienced for you to understand how effective and powerful this method of healing is.
Tiffany Stephens provides an informative talk on the basic principles of Quantum Touch and offers the opportunity to book a taster session for you to experience it for yourself after the talk. A demonstration maybe given subject to audience participation. We start the cycle absolutely determined to lose weight, to keep fit, to start saving, to stop smoking etc. So, we throw out all the chocolate and crisps, join a gym (again) make a savings plan and stub out the ciggies, and then what happens? Skerryvore - Celtic Connections 2009 (19:30 - 21:30)
Dubbed the boy band of Scottish traditional music, Skerryvore’s driving sound fuses bagpipes, accordions and fiddle with kicking guitar, bass and drums.
2008 has been a fantastic year for the band with highlights including debut performances in the USA and also a return trip to Italy to perform at the BustoFolk Festival near Milan. So, the band are delighted to round off the year in style by performing at the Oban Hogmanay Street Party again this year – an event that looks to be even bigger and better than last year with an expected crowd of 8000 joining the party with Skerryvore, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers,Oban Homecoming Gaelic Choir, World Champion Piper Angus McColl & Oban High School Pipe Band, and reforming exclusively for the event - 1980’s band The Works.
01 January 2009 will see Skerryvore kick off the Year of Homecoming Scotland with a blast as they release their own version of Dougie MacLean’s classic, ‘Caledonia’. After performing an arrangement of the song during their tour of the USA in September they received a huge number of requests to have their version recorded, in particular from MSP Jim Mather. The track will see the launch of Skerryvore on iTunes and will be available from the 01 January 2009 – literally minutes after they have performed it live to see in the Bells at the Oban Hogmanay Street Party.

Need A Hand: 4 Part Introduction To DIY (19:00 - 21:00)
Tuesday 27 January and 03, 10 & 17 February 2009
7.00pm – 9.00pm (each week)
This promises to be a fun, educative and informing introduction to DIY. We intend to create an atmosphere of informal/formal (for serious stuff!) knowledge ‘transfer’, encouraging an exchange of ideas, views, loads of practical advice and news.
There will be loads of laughs, jokes, exchanges of stories (hopefully funny ones as well as the horror ones!).
But more importantly, you will have gained confidence in tackling some tasks either ‘directly’ or be able to give ‘direction’ your chosen contractor!!
We will encourage not only ‘feed-in’ but also ‘feedback’!
Week 1: The Basics: Rules & Tools of DIY
This session will provide an introduction to DIY around the house (including fuse boxes, water points etc) and will run over some small simple jobs. Background information re: the tools to use will also be provided.
Week 2: Plugs & Wiring
This is a must - we will start with the basics but by the end of the session you will also know how to make a single socket into a double socket - very useful indeed.
Week 3: WaterWorks
We all have them and it is very annoying when something goes wrong. This session will include such delights as fixing dripping taps and unblocking your toilet!
Week 4: Doors & Security
This will mainly cover how to hang a door or adjust a squeaky one plus will also cover how to change a lock... very handy for all sorts of scenarios!
All bits & pieces that you will need are supplied and there will always be room for flexibility within the sessions depending on your feedback and you can also pick James's brains re: other matters as he is extremely knowledgeable on all things DIY.

Dealing With Difficult Times Using NLP (18:30 - 21:00)

Over the past few month's a global wave of fear has been growing - Fear for our savings, fear for our jobs and livelihoods, fear for our futures. And lets not kid ourselves on, this fear has some basis in reality; our banks are in trouble, people are losing their jobs, the cost of food and other essentials are going up. However, the real problem with fear is that is stops people making effective decisions and that is when the problems really start..
Making bad decisions leads to more fear which leads to more bad decisions and then the loop of fear begins.
