Words in Action Coach facilitator and writer....

I’m Alison Clark and I run WORDS in ACTION.

Right now in my coaching practice, I’m focussing on The Waiting Room. You know those times when you feel stuck? Can’t move forward? You may be waiting for news, for a house to sell, or for the right time to go freelance. Perhaps your waiting room is inside your head. Can you live well in that space until it’s time to pick up the reins again?

Life’s too short to stare at the walls or pace around like a caged animal. Invite me to join you in your waiting room to explore how this time and space can be enriched.

William Bridges in his book ‘Transitions’ says:
All you wanted was a little help in climbing out of the strange crack between life's floorboards that you unexpectedly fell into. Well, first you've got to understand what you're doing there, and then you've got to see why it's important to stay there for a while - and then we can talk about what to do.

We can work on the phone or face-to-face in Glasgow or on the Isle of Bute. Yes, you can come to a Waiting Room with a view at An Tearman, a house of retreat here on the island. Come for a day or stay for a few days to chill out and take stock.

The Waiting Room concept developed from the work I’ve been doing on endings and new beginnings. You can read about that in my book ‘How to Stop Flogging a Dead Horse – the Business Owner’s Guide to Creating Happy Endings’. Though aimed at small businesses and freelancers, much of it is helpful and interesting to the general reader. You can check that out for yourself by downloading free chapters from the publisher’s website. Also available on Amazon.

‘…thought provoking, easy to read, the humour is superb and the author manages to keep the horse running right through to the last page.’

Read the book? Need a leg up to get going? Come to Bute to relax, review and renew.
